Tullugaq rubbed the back of her head then rotated her shoulders. Her muscles ached from sitting scrunched up in her seat for an hour and a half, and her mood wasn't much better. She was tired of the swaying of the carriage, the snorting of the Greebik, plus both her feet kept going to sleep, and she wanted more than anything to get off.

Sixteen-year-old Twhistle Tullugaq trudged down the winding forest trail leading to the Greebik stop. She shuffled along, dragging her feet, and didn't try to catch up with her sister Kiki, age nine, who was lugging a large duffel bag and a heavy rausch horn case.
It was early June. Sunlight burned through the thick morning fog shrouding the Swanwick Region, dappling the trunks of the tall glyph trees. A cold wet mist swirled around the sisters as they walked along the damp, spongy ground.

Among the picturesque towns dotting the alpine and foothill region of the Gebrigskamm Ranges, Zelmak justly held a high place. The Erskine Valley Basin was overgrown with mostly Yggdrasil beech and that was why it was breathtakingly beautiful in the autumn, more so even than other parts of Gebrigskamm. In autumn and winter, the fog level here was so thick that only the mountaintops rose above it resembling islands in a vast sea.

This is actually a collage. For the rain effect on the border, I used parts of a magazine clipping showing a rain-slicked road and painted the spaces not covered by
the glued material. The picture in the middle is also glued on.

Thanks. The story's going along really slow so it will be awhile before I'll get to page 60.
